Toronto Boudoir Photography: Miss M
“It was time. Time to stop making excuses, and time to start appreciating my body.
I feel it’s extremely important, especially with boudoir, to work with someone that you trust. When I started to even consider having my own boudoir shoot done, I knew that I wanted Jennifer to shoot my session. Not only is her work amazing, but her personality is amazing as well. For me, it was easy to trust her with the job.
I drove 7 hours to work with Jennifer and Kelly, so I had A LOT of time chicken out… and I almost did. At least 5 times, I thought about turning the car around to go home. “I’m not ready for this,” I thought. Then I had a run-in with a particularly intrusive border patrol agent, to which I thought, “Ok, if, for some reason, they don’t let me into the country, it’s a sure-fire sign that I’m not ready for this shoot!”
Once they let me into Canada, I was in complete freak-out mode. Even a last-minute workout the morning of my shoot couldn’t calm my nerves. I had to take several deep breaths and remind myself that there’s a reason why I drove all this way to have Jennifer shoot me.
A big help was Kelly. During hair & makeup, she was able to help me calm down a bit as we chatted and laughed. Slowly, but surely, I stopped worrying and I was ready to start shooting!
Now that I’ve had my own shoot, all I can think about is, “Why the hell did I wait so long to do this?!” I loved seeing the transformation from Everyday Myla to Babe-a-licious Myla! I gave Kelly carte blanche to do what she felt would look best on me, and she worked some magic! Then, when it was time to shoot, Jennifer immediately took control and put me at ease. She talked me through the entire time, and I really had no time to doubt myself.
What advice do I have to give someone considering a boudoir shoot? Stop considering it and just do it. If Jennifer and Kelly can make ME look this hot, imagine what they can do for you! In all seriousness, I am far from perfect. But for that one day, I felt beautiful, confident, and damn sexy! And now, when I need a little boost in my day, all I have to do is look back at my photos.
Thank you, SO MUCH, Jennifer! I can’t even put into words how much the whole experience meant to me. The reason I became a photographer in the first place was to avoid being in front of the camera. My happy place was hiding behind the lens. So, to say I was scared to be photographed (in my undies, no less) is an understatement. But you and Kelly were phenomenal in making me feel comfortable and beautiful from the moment I stepped into the room. As someone who has battled self-image issues all her life, this was a big step for me and I couldn’t have picked a better team to work with.”
